Luckey cites 'many of the world's best optical engineers' — and as a VR-headset builder, optics is his own home turf. Sunny Optical (2382.HK) is the global leader in precision lenses for smartphones, automotive/ADAS cameras and AR/VR modules, exactly the difficult, manufacture-for-scale optical engineering he says China now owns. It is the cleanest single-name proxy for the optics leg of the thesis.

BYD is the physical proof of Luckey's central point: innovation fused with manufacturing. It vertically integrates cells, power semiconductors, motors, electronics and highly automated assembly under one roof, out-engineering Western OEMs on cost and cycle time.
